WDI – Wilmington Downtown Inc. Downtown Wilmington offers something for everyone. Shoppers delight in the eclectic mix of locally owned and operated shops. Foodies savor a variety of cuisines served up in trendy bistros and down-home pubs. Office workers enjoy the ability to attend to both personal and business matters during the workday within a short walk of their building. Visitors and locals appreciate theatrical performances and the ambiance of our nationally recognized historic district by day and revel in the socializing at our bars and clubs by night.


MSD – Municipal Service District WDI manages the 70-block Municipal Service District (MSD) on behalf of the City of Wilmington, providing services intended to improve Downtown Wilmington’s vitality. The centerpiece is the MSD Ambassadors Program. WDI contracts with Block by Block, a nationally recognized leader in hospitality, safety, and facility maintenance, for operations within the Central Business District (also known as our MSD). MSD Ambassadors are Downtown’s custodians, making our streets cleaner, safer, and more hospitable for all. Our Ambassadors are also a phenomenal source of knowledge about everything Downtown. Ask for suggestions and tips while you explore our beautiful city! You can spot them in our MSD green.


DPAC – Downtown Parking Advisory Committee   Actively advocate and advise Wilmington City Council on matters related to the parking program.  The overall goal is to balance stakeholder and community interest with policy, programmatic needs and the financial integrity of the parking program. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 9:00 a.m. at the Harrelson Building, 115 North 3rd Street, 5th Floor Conference Room.


CVB – Wilmington Beaches Convention & Visitors Bureau Experience the perks of meeting in a coastal destination with the conveniences and amenities of a big city. From our choice location and superb facilities, to all there is to do when your meetings adjourn, Wilmington, NC allows you to defy convention when planning your next meeting or event. And thanks to good weather year-round, it’s an ideal location for outdoor events.

WAHA – Wilmington Area Hospitality Association WAHA (Wilmington Area Hospitality Association) gives a voice to Wilmington’s vibrant tourism market! We are the area’s only regional tourism membership organization, representing all businesses in the hospitality industry.  Our members are working together to drive even greater economic success for Wilmington through the growth of the visitor market.


Better Business Bureau of Coastal Carolina Sets standards for ethical business behavior, monitors compliance, helps consumers identify trustworthy businesses, and coaches businesses on ethical behavior and how to build stronger, more trusting relationships with customers.


Business Link North Carolina A free central resource for consultations, information and referrals. Business Counselors are available to discuss your needs and help you find the appropriate resources to accomplish your goals.


Cape Fear Community College Small Business Center Seminars, workshops, counseling and a Business Resource Library available for prospective and existing small business owners.


City of Wilmington Learn about important city updates, events and city council meetings that could affect your business.


Wilmington Downtown APP Join the downtown crowd and get your listing upgraded.  Go to your APP store on your phone and search wilmington downtown and download this free APP.


Greater Wilmington Business Journal A great resource for happenings in the Wilmington region, including networking events and business expos.


Port City Daily A great news resource about various topics that you can also use to advertise and sell gift certificates for 30% off on their “Save 30” site.


Small Business and Technology Development Center Management counseling and educational services to small and mid-sized businesses. Most services are free of charge, and all are confidential. Provides entrepreneurs with the tools they need to build and grow successful businesses.


UNCW Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Through events, opportunities, research, education and networking, the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is building a large community of entrepreneurs in the Wilmington area.

Wilmington Business Development Recruits business and industry and assists with expansion and relocation efforts in Wilmington.
